Europe is standing at a crossroads. The geopolitical landscape is increasingly complex, old certainties are frail, the global order is fragilizing. War is raging in Ukraine, a global trade war is unfolding, technological competition is fierce.
On this gloomy backdrop, Denmark takes presidency of the European Union. Poised to navigate the EU through the stormy waters, the Danish presidency will have to tackle massive challenges such as reinforcing the European security architecture, strengthening the EU’s competitiveness, and decarbonizing industry.
But how to best make the EU fit for the future? What institutional reforms are needed? How could the EU strengthen its autonomy? And how does the EU prepare for enlargement?
To help answer questions such as these, Marie Bjerre, Minister of European Affairs, and Benjamin Haddad, Minister for European Affairs of France, who will discuss the fundamental questions concerning the future of the EU and engage in conversation with students.
